Ships info |
This fine 'old lady' whose slender lines
have already graced the horizons of the Dutch inland waters for over
two turns of a century already. Rightly and with suitable pride she
wears her current name "SilhoueT".
This century began with a complete rejuvenation cure for the ship. The concept
of the interior now is based on space, light and intimacy. Furthermore, the ship
is equipped to stay out on the water for extended periods independent of facilities
on the shore.
Its popular spacious and airy saloon has maintained its cosy atmosphere, the galley
has became a makeover to inspire even a renowned "chef" and the cabins
and bathrooms have all been adapted to offer maximum possible comfort in line
with current modern standards.
- The multifunctional saloon serves as a pleasant sitting room for the entire
crew, a comfortable dining room or open space for games and swinging.
- The new galley is spaciously laid out and professionally equipped. There is
an ocean of work space available, including: sink with hot and cold running water;
hotel stove with a wok burner and grill; vapor extractor fan; 225 litre fridge;
107 litre freezer; 1sq metre pantry; microwave oven; coffee-maker; citrus fruit
squeezer and a whole array of kitchen utensils and pots and pans. In fact, two
internationally rated chefs have already given free rein to their creativity here!
- A spacious corridor of 1 metre width accesses the cabins. The corridor and
cabins are a good standing height, while the cabins have both the space and facilities
for cleaning teeth and freshening-up. These are designed for a maximum of three
people.
- The bunks are fitted with slatted bases, 200 x 80 cm mattresses, fitted
sheets, duvets and covers and pillows with pillowcases.
- The washing facilities consist of a roomy shower, two normal-sized toilets
with washbasins, and one urinal.
Dementions:
Length 23 mtr, Width 5 mtr, Depth 0,60 mtr.
On deck, there is a cosy enclosed area that seats more than half the crew.
From this point the ship is steered and the navigation activities are carried
out. The foredeck also is a great place to be and here is where most of the sails
are handled, while the middle deck and pavilion offer ample opportunity for lazy
relaxation in calm weather.
The rigging (240 sq metres by the wind) is designed to be extra practical
and can be handled by anyone after brief instruction.
Albertjan Dijk your enthusiastic skipper and host on board
the SilhoueT is in the professional sailing business since 1991. The
order of priorities he holds dear is:
- safety
- enjoyment
- sailing
Contained in this formula are the conditions vital for experiencing an unforgettable
and stimulating sailing adventure. It will not be due to lack of commitment from
your skipper and mate to (wind and weather permitting) fulfill your wishes and
expectations or delighting you with previously unknown aspects of the areas explored
and the almost unlimited possibilities of the traditional craft of sailing flat-bottomed
vessels.
Wellcome on board!
